LATEST IN THE BLOG
Today, my social feeds are full of friends travelling for Chicago Open Air and I wish I was joining them! The festival was easily one of my favorites of all time, and they managed to pull another selection of killer headliners for this year. Since I can’t be there this year, I’m dedicating my posts for this weekend to flashbacks from last year. Butcher Babies are always entertaining live, and since they were one of the first sets on day one last year, I’m starting with them.
There’s a lot of things that go into a live show and I find that it’s not just the music that captivates an audience. I love when the band on stage comes out with energy and pours that into their performance. Sure, a talented voice can be enough to leave you in awe. But, when singing or guitar playing is combined with jumping, running around and headbanging… That makes it all the more impressive!
Female fronted metal bands on their own are quite rare – so to get a dual female fronted… well, that’s just double the fun. Heidi and Carla are expressive and extremely photogenic (along with being wonderfully sweet), and I can’t get enough of them!
“No you can’t stop moving, no you can’t stop moving, no you can’t stop this monster’s ball!”
