LATEST IN THE BLOG
I am addicted to Instagram lately… And more specifically, I am addicted to finding and spending hours staring at beautiful photography of perfect beaches and that turquoise blue water found only in the Caribbean.
The thing is, despite how many gorgeous, travel, beachy style photos there are, there somehow seems to be a lack of landscape photographers based directly in the Caribbean. I don’t know if I’m just REALLY bad at finding them or if nature’s beauty has surrounded people born and raised on the islands for so long that they have become used to the everyday scenery.
Since it’s #FollowFriday, I thought I would share some of my favorite, talented Caribbean landscape photographers that I have found so far to inspire you and spark those summer and travel vibes!
Nori and Louise are a duo that have been running anguilla-beaches.com together since 2016 and frequently post photos and videos featuring the beautiful, crystal clear waters of Anguilla. Who wouldn’t want to swim there?!
Jacinta’s photos are exactly what I picture when I imagine a tropical paradise. Turquoise water and lush green palms and foliage.
For a unique perspective of the Caribbean Sea’s stunning blue hues, Francois’ feed is full of striking images captured from above. I love the way the colors flow and swirl like beautiful abstract paintings.
This one was a hard one for me to pick since Barbados is my own home right now. That said, the night sky is one of the greatest things about being on a remote island far away from light pollution. Akil’s photos capture those brilliant nightscapes over various landscapes in Barbados, sharing a glimpse of the stellar night skies with the world.
I had a difficult time picking which photo of Julie’s to feature here – she’s got it all from amazing underwater photos to elegant portraits on the beach and colorful sunsets over the water. I’m just a sucker for stingrays!
When I imagine Cuba, the first thing I picture is all those colorful classic cars in Old Havana and then beautiful island beaches. Luckily, Vinales Gallery showcases both of those things (sometimes even in one photo)!
If you’re into stunning sunset seascapes, Paul has got you covered!
Well, I may not have been able to find this person’s name, but I did find a gallery full of bright and sunny beachscapes that make me want to visit Guadeloupe!
My mom and I went on a mother/daughter trip to Ocho Rios a few years back. Andre’s photo make me want to go back and spend MUCH more time exploring the rest of the island’s natural beauty.
Micka has just a small gallery on Instagram so far, but every photo is mighty!
Puerto Rican born and raised, Luis’ photos are now recognized worldwide. One look at his gallery and you’ll understand why.
Modern and trendy vibes, Charlotte’s gallery is full of soft, consistent colors and landscapes from across St. Barts.
Kemron has a nice variety of landscape and drone shots in his gallery, but what really stands out to me are his photos of the recent eruption of La Soufrière volcano on Saint Vincent. In my eyes, that kind of shot is once in a lifetime and completely iconic in its own right.
I am a sucker for long exposure photography, especially when it involves water. I love the way waves in the sea turn gentle and clouds in the sky turn soft and streaky. All of this serenity can be found right in Lawrence’s gallery.
Sharon’s photography is one of my current personal favorites. She posts an image every day and I am always excited to see a cloudscape over turquoise blue seas pop up in my feed!
Last but not least, Steve Simonsen is probably the first Caribbean landscape photographer I ever knew about. A close friend of mine who grew up on St. John and knew Steve personally shared his work with me. Part of me has been inspired to take photos like Steve’s ever since.
When I originally started compiling this list, my goal was to try and promote landscape photographers based in each Caribbean Island Country (there are 26). As you might’ve noticed – I didn’t quite get there, but I’m still trying! If you know anyone that belongs on this list, please add them in the comment section down below!
