If you’ve ever been at a rock show and seen a girl with rainbow hair and a camera in her hands running around, that was probably me!
My name is Lizzy Davis and I’m a graphic & web developer turned freelance music photographer. Some years ago, I graduated with a degree in Graphic Design. My intentions were to become a packaging and web designer for bands and record labels. I sort of hit that goal when I landed a freelance web design gig for an up-and-coming band.
At some point during that gig, I ended up with a camera in my hands in a photo pit at a rock show before I even realized what a photo pit was. That was the day I discovered my passion for capturing the emotion, excitement and adrenaline of artists and fans alike.
Music photography has become the heart and soul of my life. As a very shy introvert, I credit it with helping me open up and experience life to the fullest. Aside from giving me opportunities to travel the country (with my camera, of course), I also credit music photography for tossing me into wedding photography (the 3rd wedding I ever shot was for a rockstar, but I’ll leave that story for another time!). It has lead me down a path I never could have dreamed of, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Music is my addiction. With over 10 years of experience in concert and live music photography, my work has appeared on album covers, official band merchandise and in publications including Alternative Press.
Passionate, determined, self-motivated and endless creativity. My formal degree is in digital media/graphic design, and I’m a full-time in-house designer. In my free time, I design, code and manage an online music publications amongst other freelance projects.
Though I am not professionally licensed,
I have been experimenting with hair dye for almost 15 years. My hair colors have been a viral internet sensation and I am a multi-featured Manic Panic Dye Hard.
With travel out of the picture during COVID times, I decided to learn something I’ve always been interested in – game design. So far, I’ve added Python to the list of programming knowledge and working toward learning Unreal and beyond.
Weddings are one of those extraordinary days where emotions and excitement run high – not unlike the feelings I get at a concert! It felt like a natural progression for me to dive into wedding photography, and I’m passionate about capturing the love and memories for couples to cherish forever.
